Description
Purpose
To integrate science, indigenous knowledge & natural resource management to promote sustainable ecosystem management practices. To build learning capacity through the effective use of research, technology & knowledge transfer, and extension education.
Activities
Problem identification; strategic planning; extension services; information management services; performance evaluation; publishes the "BC Journal of Ecosystem and Management" and a newsletter "LINK"; manages the Natural Resources Information Network.
Nature
A registered charity and non-profit society whose goal is to foster partnerships in learning between natural resource users, researchers and those with experiential and indigenous knowledge, and to share and apply innovative ideas in ecosystem management.
