Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team (GOERT)
Program Coordinator
The Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team (GOERT) is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of one of Canada's most imperiled ecosystems. Over the last seven years GOERT has successfully developed a diverse, yet highly integrated ecosystem and species at risk recovery program.
A tremendous opportunity awaits an energetic, motivated conservationist with proven skills in strategic planning and program administration in a consensus-based, team-oriented working environment. Based in beautiful Victoria, reporting to the GOERT Chair and Steering Committee, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Garry Oak Ecosystems Recovery Team program with the assistance of several dedicated personnel. GOERT also has about 80 partners involved on various GOERT boards and subcommittees.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the GOERT office, budgets, personnel and other aspects of the GOERT program. The Program Coordinator is responsible to the GOERT Chair and Steering Committee and serves as a key member of the recovery team. The key responsibilities of the Program Coordinator include the following:
Anticipated start date is September 15, 2007 and this work is ongoing. Remuneration for this contract is $4920/month (GOERT is in the process of becoming an independent society and intends to hire staff in the near future. Until such time GOERT will continue to contract out this and other services).
